The Traverse City Downtown Development Authority created the Lower Boardman River Leadership Team in 2018. The primary purpose is to carefully craft Unified Plan that protects and preserves the River while identifying facilities, amenities, programs, and other considerations that should be implemented to encourage maximum use and enjoyment of this natural resource that meanders throughout Downtown Traverse City. The thirteen member Leadership Team represents a diverse group of interests of residents, planners, restoration, and more, regarding the Lower Boardman River.
